Fleeting Ice Fingers

While this image looks super manipulated and otherworldly, it was made right out my back door and is just about straight out of the camera. I clicked the shutter on this fantastic, three pronged icicle that was in the process of sliding off my metal roof at f1.8. This left just the tips in focus and the sky and white pines in the background became a dreamy haze. 30 minutes later, the ice was gone.
